I’ve always said that keeping up with the Federal Reserve is a full time job - let’s get into this weeks meeting and what it means for you:
The Fed did not cut rates as inflation stubbornly remains above their 2% target. This was expected by the market and analysts - more than 90% of economists anticipated rates would be held.
When can we expect the next rate cut?
Most analysts expect the earliest rate cut will be the May 7th meeting.
What is the reaction to the Fed holding rates steady?
This is the first key Fed decision after President Trump has taken office.
President Trump had demanded the Fed lower interest rates further - this did not come to fruition. Trump is a vocal critic of Jerome Powell, who he appointed himself during his last term, and said the central bank has “done a terrible job on Bank Regulation.” He wants say in the Fed policy and is aiming to legally strip the Fed its responsibility and transfer it to the Treasury Department. Whether this change is possible is to be seen.

A 314-acre mixed use project is coming to Del Valle. Known as The Row - it will include:

The first phase of development has already broken ground: 307-unit apartment complex.
Psst: expect housing prices to increase in Del Valle.
